MBC logoThe Minnesota Boat Club is located on the shores of Raspberry Island in downtown St. Paul. The 501(3)c nonprofit club has been promoting health and fitness through the sport of rowing since 1870 and is the state's oldest athletic organization. The club offers competitive and recreational rowing opportunities for members of all ages. The MBC's boathouse is the jewel of St. Paul's Mississippi riverfront and contains a lovingly restored banquet hall available for rental.


News

Dock Installation  
We will be putting in the dock at 10am on Saturday (04.26.08) and we will be attaching the new ramp brackets to the dock at 3pm on Saturday. The City's contractor is still working on the ramps, but we want to be ready to row when they are set to be done. Lend a hand on Saturday if you are available.

2008 School of Rowing Now Enrolling  
Registration is now open for the 2008 Learn to Row and Learn to Scull programs. Spots fill fast so sign up now. For more information, please see the MBC School of Rowing page here.

High School Learn-to-Row Camp  
Spend the morning on the Mississippi River learning the basics of a new sport. Rowing is an Olympic sport with High School, Collegiate, Elite and Masters categories for life long participation. This is an opportunity to develop your potential to be on a competitive rowing team. Participants must be 13 to 18 yr old, able to swim 50yrds and tread water for 5 min.
Where: MN Boat Club Boat on Raspberry Island (1 Wabasha St S, St Paul)
When: 9am to Noon. Choose one of four sessions: June 9-12,, June 23-26, July 7-10, or Aug 11-14.

2008 Minnesota State Indoor Rowing Championships Results  
Results from the 2008 Minnesota State Indoor Rowing Championships can be found here in pdf format.  Congratulations are in order for our junior girs who took top places in several categories.

Upcoming Indoor Rowing Competitions  

There are two upcoming indoor rowing competitions in the midwest region.  The first on February 2nd is the Midwinter Meltdown hosted by the Mendota Rowing Club in Madison, WI. (The Midwinter Meltdown is an offical C.R.A.S.H-B. qualifier.)

The second race is the Minnesota State Indoor Rowing Championships (formally the Minnesota Power Pull.)  The race is hosted by the Rochester Rowing Club and will be held on Sunday February 24th in Rochester, MN


2007 Thanksgiving Turkey Trot  

The annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot will be held on Thursday November 22nd at 9:00am.  Registration begins at 8:00.  Fees are $1 for club members and family, all others $5.  Refreshments and awards will be provided after the race.

2007 Head of the Charles  
Congratulations to the Master Women's 4+. They placed 1st at the 2007 Head of the Charles Regatta with a time of 19:02.274 narrowly edging out Toronto Sculling Club by just over 2 seconds! The junior women also had a strong showing in the Youth 4+. Former junior Patrick Scanlon also did well racing for Georgetown University in the Lightweight 8. Complete results can be found here.
