MBC wins Duluth regatta!!

MBC took first place in seven races and had a numerous other strong finishes to take first place in the team points at the Duluth Interational Regatta on Saturday, July 11.

MBC marshaled an impressive roster of 55 intrepid rowers who headed up to Duluth last Saturday. Due to weather conditions, the race was moved across Park Point to the lake side, where the wind had slightly abated from the howling rage it was on the bay. Nevertheless, at 11 am conditions even there deteriorated significantly, and all the remaining small boat (singles and doubles) races were canceled. The remainder of the day consisted of quads, fours and eights.

While battling the wind and waves, MBC took first place in the women's eight, women's quad, junior women's quad, master men's quad, men's coxed four, master men's straight four and master women's straight four. In addition to those victories, we put in a number of quality finishes, amassing the highest number of team points to take the Rheinburger Cup for the first time in recent memory.

Next it's on to NWIRA and the Lipton Cup!
